Paradise Springs will host the Clifton Homes Tour Marketplace for the second year in a row.  Vendors will line the winery with a boxed lunch option available (call ahead to reserve lunch).  Live music from 3pm-6pm.  Homes Tour tickets can be purchased by visiting http://cliftoncwc.org/homes-tour-marketplace/ .  Proceeds benefit the Clifton Community Woman's Club.

The four-course Rappahannock Cellars Wine Dinner will introduce a special selection of some of the best wines with a gourmet menu.

Appetizer:

Seared scallops on a bed of arugula drizzled with basil oil paired with 2011 Viognier.

Salad:

House salad of field greens with beef steak tomatoes, julienne cucumbers and sliced red onions with a balsamic vinaigrette paired with 2011 Rosé

Entrée:

Beef Brisket: Slow-roasted with wild mushrooms and served with mashed potatoes and sautéed Brussels sprouts paired with 2009 Meritage

Dessert:

Crème Brûlée: Traditional vanilla bean custard finished with caramelized sugar paired with 2008 Late Harvest Vidal

With spring in the air, there’s no better venue for an outing than Ash Lawn-Highland’s 18th annual WineFest on May 19 and 20 at the home of President James Monroe.  There will be wines from some of Virginia’s notable wineries and live music. Add in carefully-selected artisans and food crafters, a house tour with knowledgeable guides, cows mooing in the pasture, a souvenir wine glass for tasting, and live music and the day is set.  The Festival is held rain or shine, with cover at the Hilltop Pavilion and in tents from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

The Festival’s wine samplings can be paired on the spot with a variety of food by on site  vendors.
